Mzo is the Founder and CEO of PurpleGrowth. He has over 16 years of experience in Industry, Market & Competitive Analysis as well as Information Management, mainly in Financial Services industry, Legal Services and the Public Sector. He teaches part-time at Wits Business School (WBS) on the

Zanele Zwane is the Programmes Manager & Administrative Assist with PurpleGrowth. She is passionate about business development and life coaching. She has experience in Management Consulting and Analytical Chemistry where she grew her passion for Problem Solving. As an aspiring life coach, she has founded the Yes Girl Movement that encourages young ladies to live happy and healthy lives through training.
She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Wits Business School) and a BSc Chemistry Degree (Wits University).

Dr Manessah Alagbaoso
Dr Manessah Alagbaoso is currently the Head of Commercial Banking Africa at a leading pan-African bank. His corporate career has been in banking, where he has spent more than a decade, with the responsibility for the strategic management of Commercial businesses across 14 African countries. He holds an honours degree in Biochemistry, an MBA (cum laude) with focus on strategic management and a PhD in entrepreneurial studies. He is a sessional lecturer and MBA research supervisor at Wits Business School.
Dr Alagbaoso is the author of the book: Strategy communication effectiveness in South African banks and has published articles in peer-reviewed journal and conference proceedings in the field of strategic management and entrepreneurship. He provides thought leadership and engages in discussions related to business development and management in Africa from strategic, policy, and economic points of view.
He previously owned businesses in Nigeria, SA and Lesotho, which he has since sold off / divested from.

Introducing Kashmita Daya, a passionate Human Capital professional with 15 years of working experience predominantly in the financial services industry, including 14 years of generalist human capital experience. Kashmita has built her experience on providing strategic direction to the businesses she has worked in, both from a business and people strategy perspective. She has experience in aligning the Human Capital strategy to the business strategy and has been involved with various people related practices. She has worked in complicated matrix structures and built her personal leadership brand and influence in having to lead and direct teams with local, regional and global reach.
She was always an active member of the business line’s executive team, she learnt and contributed to the business and became a trusted and respected professional amongst her colleagues, this was a strong foundation for strategic coaching to take place with her partners. Her qualifications include a BCom (Law and Human Resource Management) degree, as well as a BCom (Hons) (Human Resource Management) degree, both from the University of Witwatersrand. Kashmita is also an entrepreneur, she recently decided to put her commercial skills into action and diversify her skills base by setting up her own company in the retail sector, focusing on invitations and accessories, mainly in the wedding industry business (www.jarya.co.za).
Mapule is a seasoned Senior Human Resource Manager at Standard Bank and she has extensive experience in HR Consulting, Facilitation and Coaching. She has worked predominantly in the Retail and Investment Banking sector. Mapule has earned an Honours Degree in Industrial Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma (Business Administration), a Master of Business Administration from the Wits Business School as well as a Strategic Leadership Course from Duke University, through an in-house programme.
She is currently completing her Master of Business and Executive coaching through Wits Business school. A true academic at heart, Mapule has recently published and presented an article on the Retention of Millennials at the International Conference of Leadership and Governance. She also serves as a trustee of the Youth Build Trust, a Ford Foundation Initiative to help equip the youth with life skills.
Mapule is deeply passionate about leadership development both in Corporate and Society. She is currently part of a mentorship programme called Student Sponsorship Programme (SSP) which offers to mentor to young school children transitioning from underprivileged backgrounds to private schools.
Dr Jacqui Carnelley
Jacqui is an experienced marketing professional with over 20 years of experience. She has held director level marketing roles at various blue chip companies including as SABMiller, Famous Brands and Standard Bank for local and global markets. Her experience spans diverse categories (beverages, financial services, FMCG, QSR) and geographies including both developing and developed countries (South Africa, Rest of Africa, North and South America, Eastern Europe). She has recently completed the final stage of her doctorate at GIBS which explores the ways in which superior marketing capability is built in different product-market contexts such as business to business (B2B), business to consumer (B2C), goods and services environments.
Shahiem holds a BCom degree with Majors in Law as well as Human Resources Management from the University of Witwatersrand. He then went on to complete a BCom Honours degree at the University of South Africa (UNISA) with a specialization in Business Management.
He is also a graduate of the prestigious Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute (TMALI), where he completed programmes in International Trade Theory & Practice in African Development as well as African Politics & International Trade. Thereafter, Shahiem was awarded a full scholarship to study at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). Here, he completed his Master of Commerce Degree with a specialization in Leadership Studies. Shahiem was once again awarded a full scholarship and is currently reading for a PhD in Leadership. He plans to complete his PhD by the end of 2017.
He is currently a research supervisor at the Wits Business School. Shahiem has over 9 years of experience as a Business Consultant and Analyst in various public and private sector industries. He is currently employed at leading South African bank, where he leads and facilitates the organization’s goal of establishing an enterprise-wide Business Requirements and Business Rules Management capability. His primary focus is to engineer Business Requirements and Business Rules for the bank’s largest ever Core Banking transformation and Africa expansion programmes.
He previously occupied the position of Head: SAP Core Banking Learnership Programmes. Shahiem also has 3 years of management consulting experience. He has crafted various leadership frameworks for the South African legal profession. He also enjoyed a stint at the global leader in management consulting, McKinsey & Company. He has been exposed to large-scale public sector infrastructure projects including energy generation, education and transport.
Pieter is an independent researcher and analyst with a focus on decision-making under uncertainty, systems thinking, cognitive biases, complexity, and futures thinking (scenarios). He worked at Sasol for 20 years where he regularly consulted to executive management on strategic issues. At Sasol Technology, Pieter managed a competitive intelligence team.
He is co-teaching on Competitive Intelligence, Systems Thinking & Industry Foresight at Wits Business School. He has B Eng (Chemical) and B Eng (Industrial) (Hons) degrees from the University of Pretoria, a B Phil degree in Information and Knowledge Management (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch and is a masters-level Certified Intelligence Professional (Fuld- Gilad-Herring Academy of Competitive Intelligence). He is also a Cognitive Edge Practitioner (sense-making of complexity).
Michael has an extensive experience in library & information, knowledge management and competitive intelligence, mainly in consulting, insurance and petrochemical industries. He currently holds a position as Senior Manager: Research and Intelligence with Sasol; supporting strategy, risk, capital
projects and technology intelligence. His qualifications include MPhil: Information and Knowledge Management (Stellenbosch University); a certificate in Competitive Intelligence (GIBS).
Pearl is currently a Senior Manager: Small Enterprise: Client Financial Solutions at a leading financial services organisation. Pearl has over seven years’ experience in Banking and Financial Services. Her experience includes positions held in Core Transactional Products and the creation of exciting client financial solutions within the Small Enterprise division to maximise customer value. She has deep experience of the financial services industry including strategic translation of regulation frameworks that govern Business and Commercial Banking within the SA environment.
She holds an Executive MBA (cum laude) from the Gordon Institute of Business Science and has completed a number of Leadership and Coaching training programmes. She is an MBA Research supervisor at GIBS and a regular Guest Lecturer at WBS.
